Pilot (mini) reviews — Part II

This post is a follow-up to my previous “pilot (mini) reviews”.
Indeed, I just saw today two new pilots:

- East Bound and Down: A Will Ferrell production. Weird pilot I thought but Danny McBride is great.
- The Mentalist: Lots of “TV people” (Simon Baker, quick guest by Steven Culp, Robin Tunney, Owain Yeoman, Zeljko Ivanek, among others) but that isn’t enough for me to make a good show. On the same basic concept, I prefer the much lighter Psych.

East Bound has not yet been taken by HBO but if it does, I’ll probably watch at least the first season.
As for Mentalist, I’ll stay with Psych.

I agree about The Mentalist – it had good casting, but that’s really about it. I’ll watch it though, it’ll be my Moonlight of next season.
