Let's make a quick (but far from exhaustive) list of upcoming planned remakes:
- Footloose with Efron.
- Bienvenue chez les Chtis (aka The Sticks).
Do I need to remind people that the story was very local-based?
- A 1963 Akira Kurosawa classic (High and Low), by David Mamet and directed by Mike Nichols.
- A remake of another Kurosowa remake (yes you read that right), The Seven Samurai by the Weinstein Co.
- A Hellraiser "relaunch", by Pascal Laugier.
and
- Melrose Place, the spin-off of BH 90210.
Will the new version be considered a spin-off of the new 90210 or a spin-off of the old 90210? Or a spin-off of the spin-off of another show?
I'm confused.

Alright, I was just kidding when I mentioned a Melrose Place reboot in my 90210 review. I promise not to even think about joking about a new version of Models, Inc. I too am confused by the spin-off logic.
As for the others, I may see the Footloose remake (I love the original), but I’m a bit upset they couldn’t have gotten a manlier guy to play the lead. Yes, I said it — Kevin Bacon was/is manly. And ooh — The Seven Samurai…again.
Unfortunately I am not kidding about that Melrose Place reboot. :(
I found out about it this morning, and now I’m trying to write an article on it for my school paper. I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the whole concept.
I promised in my 90210 review to actually watch if they ever made a Melrose Place 2.0. I didn’t expect it to actually happen.… It was just supposed to be a joke… :(
