Did you know I had a Furby?

I’m probably the only person that hasn’t seen yet The Dark Knight, although to be fair the movie just came out today here in France.
I hope to see it (again?) when I’m over the Atlantic on a giant Imax screen but for now I’ll try to watch it in 35mm.

Moving on.
Catching up on my shows, I watched yesterday the season 3 premiere of Psych.
I must say, this show is getting awesomer and awesomer as it goes.
I haven’t yet watched the other s3 episodes but from what I’ve read, it’s going to be as cool, if not cooler, as the premiere.

Shawn’s hair-do is also pretty “cool” (for the 90s).

Speaking of Psych, yes, this post’s title is a direct quote from the show.
In the s3 premiere episode, Shawn (re)discovers that he had a Furby when he was young (and other childhood artifacts).

I wonder how young he was when he had that Furby, especially since I have a Furby of my own and I’m barely 20 now.
And this brings us to tonight’s word.
This, as well as a blog comment, led me to think about (my) childhood toys and the fact that my room hasn’t changed in over 10 years. Fortunately I’m moving out soon but as I pointed out elsewhere, I have loads of (crappy) geeky stuff I haven’t used in a long long time (and probably won’t ever use again).
To name a few:
Magic The Gathering cards. I have tons of them. So much so that a few years back I tried to evaluate my collection and as far as I’m aware, I have worth 1000€ of cards.
– Loads of Gameboy/Gameboy advance/Nintendo DS games.
Star Wars: Attack of The Clones trading cards. Yes, for real.
– Buffy and Angel trading cards.
– “TV Based” books. And I’m not talking about the good kind, rather the commercial-type ones; you know, those based on the best TV shows ever.
Marvel Heroclix boxset(s).
– Tons of TV/Movie figurines. Like those Battlestar Galactica ones.
I should also point out that I have never been to Comic-Con.

Damn you TV/Movie fanboyism and geekness!

Catching up with the world

…And we’re back!

I’m gone one month and the world has changed without me.
I’m crying inside.

I’ve got loads of things to catch up on. Comic-con, The Colbert Report, The Daily Show, Generation Kill, Weeds, Middleman, Pokémon, Burn Notice, Mad Men, Rescue Me, Psych…and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-along
So much to do in 2 weeks!

That reminds me: I haven’t prepared yet my 2-week trip that is in 2 weeks.
Dammit.

I also need to finish this script thingy…

Oh and prepare the GRE…
Speaking of the GRE, I’ve been advises to take it as close as possible to my application, so I have a year to prepare for it instead of 5 months, nifty.

And I also need to read those blogs I keep hearing about.

You’re gone one month and the world turns.

Live from Avignon, it's Wednesday Afternoon!

You might be thinking:
“There’s a good chance that I won’t see this message the second after it’s posted, ergo it won’t be live, ergo this post title doesn’t make sense.”
And you’d be right.
Except the heat here (over 105°F!) doesn’t make things better for me and I have no idea what I’m writing basically.
I’m in a cyber café right now (1 euro per half hour, what a rip-off!) so I won’t be long.
Just to tell my long-time fans (read 1 month-old fans) that I’ll be back in Paris Sunday night.

In a perfect world, today’s post would read something like:
Life in the South of France is great. I got all my reading done, I wrote my 7-day movie script, I even wrote a spec pilot.

But this is not really how it goes.
I haven’t read a single page of that book I was talking about the other day and I have written basically 20 pages instead of 90 on my 7-day script.
I’ve been busy elsewhere. Mainly in my dreams.

Also, unfortunately I have no news about comic-con except I heard that the trailer for Watchmen came out a few weeks ago with Dark Knight. And I was not able to see Dr. Horrible’s Singalong!
Hopefully I’ll get all this done and more next week.
Yes, I’m an optimist…At least I hope.
