A TV Calling is one of the most widely followed sources of analysis and information about the TV writing industry. Since 2008, we have focused on the two core components of television: its writing, and its writers. This site covers a variety of industry topics, ranging from spec script writing and “breaking in“, to story arcs, outlines, character psychology, and even the occasional reviews.
We are here to help television writers, young and new, get the best out of their medium.

WHO IS ALEX

Born and raised in Paris (yes, that one), I’m half-Brit/half-French (not a unicorn). Incidentally, I am also the lucky recipient of an actual American Green Card (won at the national lottery no less). Yay, me!
I moved to Los Angeles in 2010 and have since worked in various aspects of TV production, from development to post-production. I’m currently busy writing another pilot (or spec).

I have been fanatic about television ever since I can remember. Really. The earliest memory I have is being scared to death by an episode of The Outer Limits. I also admit to having cried man-tears in front of the Six Feet Under finale. Since falling in the love with the medium, I have been constantly writing and talking about television through its various aspects and angles.

It was probably around the time of Buffy that I decided not only to write about my passion, but also write for my passion. To put it simply, I am an up-and-coming television writer. And perhaps, someday, showrunner.

Television is my calling.
