Hola, adios

Looks like the Hulu/CBS peace treaty is not lasting very long.
Hulu pulled all of its videos from CBS’ TV.com last Tuesday after CBS failed to distribute on Hulu its shows and content from CBS, The CW or Showtime.
CBS is bitching about it saying that its in their right to stream Hulu vids on TV.com.
Fight! Fight! Fight!

Showtime’s half-hour Nurse Jackie by Liz Brixius, C.S.I.‘s Evan Dunsky & That ’70s Show‘s Linda Wallem, starring The Sopranos‘ Eddie Falco as a NYC E.R. Catholic nurse with a weakness for Adderall and Vicodin, has now a premiere date: June 8th.

The Butterfly Effect‘s Amy Smart is set to play Claudia McIntire from the ABC show I, Claudia, now renamed See Cate Run, revolving around a young prosecuting attorney that could one day become the president of the United States.

CBS’ Accidentally on Purpose will meanwhile star Dharma & Greg‘s Jenna Elfman as the San Fran movie critic getting pregnant after a fling with a younger man.

Sounds wonderful.

What is not wonderful however is that The Middleman has now been (at last) officially canceled.

Farewell. :(

You’ll be able to see the un-filmed (real) season finale on comic-book form though.

Reconversion

Back to our regular programming (notice how I squeezed in that nice pun there?) with more pilot news.

Mercy‘s Dr. Chris Sands (look to your right) will be played by Men in Trees/Samantha Who‘s James Tupper.

Also, Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel is one of the most sought-out after actresses for this pilot season, and Claire Danes might return to TV after her start on ABC’s My So-Called Life.

Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter are back together, and on Comedy Central for that matter, for a show called Michael and Michael Have Issues (premiering around July). Michael Ian Black guested last year on The CW’s Reaper and hosted Comedy Central’s own Reality Bites Back, while Michael Showalter starred in Reno 911!: Miami. The two have been BFFs for over 20 years, joining ranks for Stella.

Lots of stuff to look forward to this year.

Coming and going

Pilots keep on comin’!

Good Girls is a CBS pilot comedy around two women trying to reinvent themselves with other childhood friends. The pilot was penned by The New Adventures of Old Christine‘s Sherry Bilsing-Graham and Ellen Kreamer.
At ABC, we have an untitled comedy, written by Dream On‘s Jeff Strauss, focusing on marriage and parenthood through three couples’ POV.
NBC has an untitled comedy (yes, again) by Less Than Perfect‘s Justin Adler, this time around the ’89 movie Parenthood with adult siblings.

A bit of casting news regarding previously picked up pilots:
ABC’s Happy Town will have Lauren German as its suspicious new inhabitant.
The still-untitled CBS procedural around Manhattan prosecutors will star Jericho‘s Lennie James as a former Assistant to the District Attorney.

Meanwhile, 24‘s Jon Cassar will shoot CBS’ Washington Field and Michael Fresco will direct the unnamed ABC-Hemingson dramedy pilot.
NBC’s Mercy will be shot by 30 Rock‘s Adam Bernstein

And there’s gonna be a sixth season for FX’s Rescue Me (the fifth one premieres April 7 remember).

I also have some amazing news for you guys: E! has ordered a sublime reality project named Hot Girls in Scary Places.
The title says it all.
Yes, really.
