Hap

I was gonna do a link-post as some great articles have been published in the last few days.
But then Futurama being back was confirmed.

As I previously reported, Comedy Central was beginning production on fresh Futurama episodes.
It has now been confirmed that the order is not for one 13-episode season, but for two (26 epis total)!
Even better.

HBO’s Boardwalk Empire added a few castmembers today, including The Wire‘s Michael Kenneth Williams, as well as Enter the Void‘s Paz de la Huerta.
I’m definitely tuning in to watch that.

Shawn Ryan and Ted Griffin’s Terriers was picked up by FX.
The show revolves around two immature PIs (an ex-cop and a young hot-shot).

Also in the news, ABC announced yesterday it’s fall premiere dates:

Monday, September 21
10:00-11:00 p.m. “Castle”

Tuesday, September 22
10:00-11:00 p.m. “The Forgotten”

Wednesday, September 23
9:00-9:30 p.m. “Modern Family”
9:30-10:00 p.m. “Cougar Town”

Thursday, September 24
8:00-9:00 p.m. “Flash Forward”
9:00-10:00 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy”

Sunday, September 27
9:00-10:00 p.m. “Desperate Housewives”

Wednesday, September 30
8:00-8:30 p.m. “Hank”
8:30-9:00 p.m. “The Middle”

Friday, October 9
8:00-10:00 p.m. “Ugly Betty” (two-hour season premiere)

Still waiting on the other nets’ dates though.

THR’s 2009 Showrunner Emmy Roundtable

I’m pretty lazy these days, or rather extremely busy.
Whichever excuse you prefer.

Lucky for me, THR has posted great videos from their Emmy Roundtable with various Showrunners:
– Alan Ball
– Greg Daniels
– Katie Jacobs
– Jenji Kohan
– Shonda Rhimes
– Matthew Weiner

Here goes:

Spoiler Sport
Greg Daniels, creator of “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation,” and the other writer/producers talk about keeping upcoming storylines out of the reach of fans and media.

Product Placement
Shonda Rhimes, creator of “Private Practice” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” talks about network pressure to do product placement; “True Blood” writer Alan Ball talks about vampire sex.

Standards
Even cable has its content standards, and to “Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner, “Weeds” creator Jenji Kohan and “True Blood” creator Alan Ball, they can often be double standards.

Kohan, Weiner
“Mad Men” creator Matthew Weiner and “Weeds” creator Jenji Kohan discuss their respective writing styles.

Rhimes, Ball
“True Blood” writer Alan Ball discusses how his stars’ off-screen romance translates on-screen and Shonda Rhimes gives us her opinion of tabloid rumors.

Daniels, Jacobs
Greg Daniels, the writer of “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation,” tells us why he chooses to use a single camera while filming and Katie Jacobs talks about the relationship doctors have with her show, “House.”

Back from the dead

First up today, some great news: Futurama will be back (on Comedy Central)!
Collider reports that the Futurama production office have already oppened and casting is about to start.
The source further reports that the order is of a 13-episode season.
Best news of the day as far as I’m concerned.

In other TV info, BSG‘s Katee Sackhoff is joining the cast of next season’s 24, completing the team already made up of Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Westfeldt, Mykelti Williamson, John Boyd and Chris Diamantopoulos.

And finally, a little vid to pass the time until I’m not too lazy enough to post some real content:
