The Amazing Colbert-Man

Remember that thing about Stephen Colbert being in the next Spider-Man comic?

The New York Times just revealed a couple days ago that the villain Colbert will be facing is none other than…spoiler alert…a grizzly.
Well, actually, The Grizzly.
Who is that? Doesn’t matter.
What matters is that it is now the Number One threat on the Threat Down.

Go Colbert!

Also, Wired has a great little interview with Marvel’s editor-in-chief, Joe Quesada, and Amazing Spider-Man’s writer, Mark Waid.

Here’s a little excerpt:

Wired.com: What is it about Colbert that makes him worthy of safeguarding Captain America’s shield or becoming president of the Marvel Universe?

Mark Waid
: Colbert’s worthy because he loves and respects our heroes. And in a world with J. Jonah Jameson in it, that’s an important qualification.

Joe Quesada: Colbert is a true American hero. He’s said so on TV, which means it must be true!

Remember that the issue comes out next week (Oct. 15 to be precise)!

Outside the box

HBO Labs (HBO’s digital media studio) has a new web series starting Oct. 1 and starring some famous online faces such as LonelyGirl15’s (and Greek’s) Jessica Rose, “Mr. Safety” AKA Cory Williams, sXePhil and Michael Buckley from ‘What The Buck?’.
The website will also allow fan to interact with the stars.

Now, I’m not really a big fan of YouTube web series.
To be honest, I have never watched any of those “shows” (and probably won’t watch this one), but it still helps to show that the future of entertainment is strongly linked to the Internet and content should be thought “outside the box”, literraly.

Or the show will sink.

In any case, if you do want some amazing, funny, professional online original content, then remember that Strike.TV exists for a good reason.

In other media news, did you peeps see this week’s EW cover (and Q&A)?

Now that’s what I call a Colbert Bump.

Colbert + Spidey = Geek orgasm

Best. Combination. Ever?

As you may know, Colbert is really important to the Marvel Universe. As important as, say, Obama for real life, in that he’s running for president in the Marvel Universe…and winning.
That and he has Captain America’s shield, for real.

You may ask: from where is this awesome piece of comic-book history coming from?
The answer: an 8-page narrative found inside Amazing Spider-Man’s Number 573.

This truly Amazing issue will be out Oct. 15 for a mere 4$ (did I mention 573 is super-sized?).

It’s going to be legen-wait for it-dary.
