Peek

We start today’s blog with ground-breaking news:

The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien has a new set design.
No, that’s not ground-breaking news.
What is however, is the fact that Serious Lunch has uncovered the truth behind said new set design: it is actually a replica of the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario Bros!

Check it out for yourselves:

Great Scott!

Quickly continuing on yesterday’s Heroes casting news, Prison Break‘s Robert Knepper has been cast as the new season’s main villain.

The AMC remake of The Prisoner meanwhile has a (very) short promo now out:

Looks like all the new stuff for today…

New Beginnings

Important Things with Demetri Martin has been renewed for a second season.
A shame I missed him in Cannes (he was there to promote Ang Lee’s Taking Woodstock).

Conan O’Brien’s first Tonight Show debuted strongly (ratings-wise).
I especially loved the cold open for the show.

Javier Barden meanwhile is joining Michael Douglas and Shia LaBoeuf for Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps which should premiere around Feb. 2010.

Also, as some of you may know, Universal and Illumination Entertainment are moving on a Where’s Waldo? live-action family movie.
Yup, really.

Fail

That’s how I feel after reading some of the latest news going on around.

First, Activision is eyeing a possible TV Show adaptation based on the popular Guitar Hero video-game.
There are also some talks about a movie version of the game.
Yeah, seriously.

Keanu Reeves meanwhile is set to star in a Universal remake of The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

As for FOX’s Virtuality by Michael Taylor and Ronald D. Moore, well…

The 2-hour pilot directed by Peter Berg will be aired as a Movie of the Week…
On July 4th.
Also on the “Oh God, please no” list is FOX airing Michael Taylor/Ronald D. Moore’s Virtuality 2-hour pilot (directed by Peter Berg) as a Movie of the Week…
On July 4th.
As usual, way to go FOX!
