SNL Censorship?

I learned today that an SNL skit from last week was put on Hulu by NBC and then quickly pulled out.
What is interesting is that the skit is against Dems so to speak.

For those who do not see what skit I’m talking about, you can see a transcript of it over here.

There’s somewhat of a debate out there on whether or not the pull-out was a political move due to lobying and/or the Sandlers (yes, they’re real) with their good friend George Soros.

NBC is currently trying to eradicate any online trace of the sketch (whether on YouTube or anywhere else), as well as any comments regarding the “censorship”.

As Rizzn points out in his blog post, this kind of censorship might become more and more common, especially with Net-Neutrality far from being an “important enough” issue, and far from being a net reality.
The Reps and Joe Biden are kind of against it…

The Amazing Colbert-Man

Remember that thing about Stephen Colbert being in the next Spider-Man comic?

The New York Times just revealed a couple days ago that the villain Colbert will be facing is none other than…spoiler alert…a grizzly.
Well, actually, The Grizzly.
Who is that? Doesn’t matter.
What matters is that it is now the Number One threat on the Threat Down.

Go Colbert!

Also, Wired has a great little interview with Marvel’s editor-in-chief, Joe Quesada, and Amazing Spider-Man’s writer, Mark Waid.

Here’s a little excerpt:

Wired.com: What is it about Colbert that makes him worthy of safeguarding Captain America’s shield or becoming president of the Marvel Universe?

Mark Waid
: Colbert’s worthy because he loves and respects our heroes. And in a world with J. Jonah Jameson in it, that’s an important qualification.

Joe Quesada: Colbert is a true American hero. He’s said so on TV, which means it must be true!

Remember that the issue comes out next week (Oct. 15 to be precise)!

Crashing through TV

Last night I saw Crash. No, I’m not talking about the Oscar-winning movie but the new TV show, thematically based on the movie.

I saw the first 2 episodes of the show last night. I thought they were pretty good, lots of potential (character-wise and story-wise).
All new characters (hence a thematic link rather than a character spin-off), including Denis Hooper’s who has a really cool storyline (Emmy anyone?). I love the cast.
It is certainly not your average cop show, dealing more with characters rather than cases, all in a more blunt fashion. You really fell for them and get to witness their journey through life. And the end of Episode 2 is just awesome.
A really interesting start for this brand new Starz show.

So is everyone getting on the “TV Show” wagon now?
