Sautéed days

First, I’d like to welcome all my new readers, especially the ones that are from the far-away APA Blog. :)
I hope you won’t get too lost in the crazy rants I sometime post.

Speaking of crazy rants (and crazy days for that matter)…

Wednesday is Obama Day.
And by that I mean he’s tomorrow’s Daily Show guest.
What? You thought I was gonna talk about another show he’ll be on tomorrow night simultaneously on NBC, CBS and FOX?
Also, ABC is airing Pushing Daisies.
Who will win the rating war: a pie-maker or a terrorist lover?

As for next Tuesday.
Mmmm…
What are you supposed to do on November 4th again?
Right, buy French fries.
Delish’.

Today, don’t forget that Strike.TV is officially launched.
And, no, I am not producing anything over there, thanks for asking telepathically.

Also today, I successfully cooked “Sautéed aubergines and leeks with ginger”.
Yay me.

In other worldwide TV news, France Television’s primetime will begin next year at around 8:35PM instead of 8:50/9PM (as ads will be suppressed after 8PM).
To try to counter its rival network, M6 will also program its primetime at around 8:35PM.
This is a huge change in the French TV landscape.
That’s like having Mad Men on NBC right after the Super Bowl leading to record-shattering ratings of 10 people watching the show.
Only, you know, at 8:35PM.

Forgive me but I couldn’t leave you with a smile on your face, so here goes:
The Footloose remake has been fast-tracked by Paramount with… Zack Efron in the lead. Right after he signs that half-mil check.

Never two without three

Or Jamais deux sans trois as we say in French.
Another big TDS correspondent is leaving the show: Rob Riggle.
Like Sam Bee and Jason Jones (who was on last night’s HIMYM) earlier this month, Riggle is moving to CBS via a deal he made this week.
One of the show he might develop with the network could be one touching upon his past as a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve major.

The Daily Show will soon be plagued by a mass void in castmember.
Who will join Wyatt Cenac for this new wave?
To be continued next year.

Crazy whorish money

Did you click because of the title?

Unfortunately for you, there ain’t no hos here dog.

But rest assured that this week, the madness never ends.
And that’s 2 crazies this week if you’re keeping tabs.

Let’s continue.

Remember that Argonaut Version 9.0 I was talking about yesterday?
Well the guys over at WB are making their own kind of Greek mythology adaptation.

Remember Troy?
I hope you don’t.

Yesterday was announced that Brad Pitt was going to star in another Homer adaptation, directed by George Miller (Mad Max).
This will be an all new take on Homer’s The Odyssey.
And by new, I mean futuristic.
Literally.
They are planning to take the story far into S-F territory.
God no.

Halfway around the world, Canal Plus is going to do, after their “Brit Week” earlier this year, an “American Week”.
And guess when.
The first week of November (election anyone?).
The week will be full of docs around the U.S., including one on H-Wood, with Antoine de Caunnes’ “Allez a LA!”, among others.
Also during the week will be showings of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report.
Not to mention that C+ inked a deal earlier this week with… Dan Rather.
Yes.

Is C+ pimping itself out to get deals?

Meanwhile, I have news for you, Mad Men speccer.
Rest assured that your smooth spec is staying alive for a while. A third season is already optioned by AMC.
Although talks are still taking place between Lionsgate and Weiner…
Money money money.

Oh, and Sarah Palin is indeed guesting this Saturday on SNL.
Sad.

But hey, it’s the week-end.
Hooray!
